The last piece has fallen into place for a Waikato water company, with Waitomo’s council confirming it will join.
Waikato Waters Ltd, a new jointly owned council-controlled organisation, will take over water and wastewater services for several councils from July next year.
Waitomo District Council was the last to make a decision, with five councils already signed up to the Waikato Water Done Well option. A sixth, Taupō, left the door open to joining later.
